New Sea port in Orissa –A new venture by Aditya Birla Group
Aditya birla group signed a memorandum of understanding with Orissa Govt. to develop a captive seaport at Chudamani in Bhadrak district at a cost of 1,500 crores. The Port is expected complement the grouo’s operation in the state.It would handle 3 million tonne (mt) cargoto begin with and can handle 10 mt when fully functional It is expected to get completed and will be fully operational in four years time.
The port will have two berths and handle bulk cargo such as cement, aluminium, iron ore, thermal coal, lime stone, gypsum, clinker and other minerals.
The MoU was signed in presence of Chief minister Naveen Patanaik and other senior officials.According to the group, the project will give direct and indirect employment to around 5,000 people and bring annual revenue of Rs.20 crore for state government
